Our Grand Opening Party: End of Zomer Recap

Our Grand Opening Party was the finish line in the home-stretch in what has been one of the most hectic years of Lekker to date. We're grateful, we're tired, we have so many people to thank, and hopefully many more exciting events like this in the future. We went through the party full-breakdown on Instagram, but we wanted to make sure we gave you guys a little recap about the all the happenings.

Masters of taste Joanne Chang and Ana Sortun joined us with unbelievable chef tastings that had everyone in awe over two culinary powerhouses in one space. We've been joking around here that "you don't eat at your own wedding" and that was proven to be true as we ran around without getting a bite. It's a good thing that we frequent both Myers + Chang and Oleana constantly (and you should too).

American Provisions came through with the most elaborate, visually insane charcuterie plate we've ever seen. Yes, we have an embarrassing amount of pictures and closeups where pomegranate halves meet prosciutto, and stills of cheese wheels that have only been in our endless-ability-to-process-dairy dreams. American Provisions has farm-to-table New England cuisine perfected, sourcing nothing but the best from small-batch artisans who take their food seriously.

Elemental Beverage Co brought their incredibly cool coffee with snap-chilled technology (pun intended), flavor infusions, and water-color branding. Plus, they're the brain-child of an old friend!

We partnered with a roaming greenhouse called Transplanted, that created succulent masterpieces and plants of all-sorts, to raise money for Rosie's Place – a women's shelter in the South End. Rosie's Place does so much good for the community, please take a second out of your day to learn about what they do and consider volunteering! Transplanted is a charitable off-shoot of Cityscapes, traveling around Boston to events and beyond, donating all their proceeds to charity.

Throughout the night we had our friends at Siena Farms offering CSA signups + outfitting us with sunflowers. Siena Farms is a family farm that cultivates 50 acres of protected farmland in Sudbury and Concord, MA, runs their own farmstands + stores, and provides sustainable produce for restaurants throughout the city! There was also newcomer in the South End scene who graced us for the night, a holistic spa called SOWA Med Spa opened by Nurse Practitioner & natural beauty enthusiast, Alexandra Paz. They're right next to Follain on Dartmouth St, so go check them out and tell Alex we sent you.

It wouldn't have been a party without so many of you – neighbors, friends, and family turning out to support us. Curt got to live out his dream of being an announcer for our 16 prize raffle that gifted so much goodness like a limited edition Drop Chair, a Ferm Living Rest Lamp + Pouf, and even an Eames Elephant.
