    Introducing Skagerak

A new brand in the Lekker lineup has just touched down with timeless outdoor furniture, right as the sun is shining a little more consistently in Boston + elsewhere. So obviously, we wanted to give you a proper introduction to each other, especially if you're planning or visualizing a new outdoor setup.

And while we're here, if you want to browse all our new arrivals at your leisure, including new Ethnicraft designs, Loll additions, and Gus* Modern releases, head here. For now, it’s time to meet Skagerak.

A Trip to Provence at Les Andéols

    Location: Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt, France

Interior Design: Patrizia Massart & Olivier Massart

It’s been a minute, folks! We spent the better part of last year launching a new website and the journal you’re reading this article on, which was an all-hands-on-deck affair where we challenged and personified so many aspects of Lekker. We hope you find new corners of our

Community Spotlight: Disrupting the Cycle of Poverty with USES

Today, we’ll be speaking about Lekker as little as possible. (You may be thinking, that’s sort of difficult considering this a design journal, but stick with us here.) Since the pandemic has put a hold on our regular volunteering and who knows what it will look like in the future, we want to continuously share the organizations we love, support, and are chatting about behind the scenes. We want to make sure our small business and platform are working to spotlight people and organizations in the community that are mobilizing and doing the work to make Boston a more equitable place to live and working against social, racial, and economic injustices.

For this community spotlight, we’ll be taking you through the history, mission, and innovations of 129-year-old South End institution, United South End Settlements, USES for short. An organization that works tirelessly

How To Care for Wood Furniture

With the heart of spring just around the corner, we’re looking forward to more consistent sunny days and blue skies. Hopefully, New England doesn’t betray us with a false spring, fingers crossed. But this fresh weather not only affects our seasonal disposition but also affects the behavior of our furniture, ironically enough. If you have wood furniture, go take a look, you may have noticed some separation appear on the

  5. Introducing the First Ethnicraft Outdoor Collection

Introducing the First Ethnicraft Outdoor Collection

You know, or maybe you don't, that Ethnicraft has been a staple at Lekker for over sixteen years. So we couldn't be more excited to share that their most recent release just in time for early spring is their first outdoor collection! Like all long-lasting wood designs made for the outdoors, each piece is made from solid FSC-certified teak, containing adaptions of some of their bestsellers as well as a few never-before-seen designs. If you're local, make an appointment with us to stop by the showroom because the whole collection is newly on the floor.

We'll let the designs speak for themselves,

  6. Two Small Space Approaches by Studio Fauve

Two Small Space Approaches by Studio Fauve

This week we wanted to look at two Brooklyn spaces: one apartment in Bed-Stuy and one apartment in Greenpoint, designed by interior design studio, Studio Fauve, a master of making small spaces seem open and bright. We featured another NY project by the studio last year that serves as a great introduction to designer Charlotte Sylvain's style and approach. In the projects we're talking about today, Studio Fauve uses multi-purpose custom wood pieces to anchor the spaces and help make the most of a smaller footprint while not sacrificing beauty.

Right now, it's easy to feel stuck in the sameness of life or feel too big for our spaces, so we all could use a reminder about the power of intentional design in improving our moods. If you want to explore this concept further,

  7. Choose The Right Carl Hansen Dining Chair For You

Choose The Right Carl Hansen Dining Chair For You

If you have some design luck, a heritage piece has come into your life at one point or another. Maybe it was unique nordic dinnerware passed down from your grandma or a one-of-a-kind vintage bureau that you found at an estate sale. But with designs made by Carl Hansen trusted to last for decades, you can be the start of the chain and pass down pieces to a future generation of furniture lovers. The power!

We thought it was our duty to run through a few of our favorite + bestselling dining chairs in a little more depth if you're looking to change your interior scenery or your design lineage.

  8. The Art Gallery Inspired Offices of Roc Nation

The Art Gallery Inspired Offices of Roc Nation

Whatever your work reality is right now in this new year, we're all thinking harder about what we need in a workspace right now: how it should feel, what it should offer, and where we want to be. Whether you can't imagine being back, you love working from home, or maybe you never left – the future of co-working spaces is in the balance. Because of that, we want to talk about the office of all the offices, the Roc Nation headquarters in NYC owned by none other than Jay-Z. Besides the obvious cool-factor of working there, the interiors are expansive, art-focused, and built for the creative collaboration we're desperate to resume. Filled with so many of our favorite pieces from Blu Dot to Knoll, we hope this is welcome inspiration to start the new

Wind Down With Our Self Care Shoppe

As we're inching closer to the end of the year, the gift of relaxation or stress relief is one of the best to give to yourself and others. So we're bringing you our Self Care Shoppe filled with in-stock favorites ready to ship wherever, don't forget this is the last week to order any gifts we have in-stock to get them by the 24th (we recommend ordering by 12.17). Eldvarm Bestsellers, Campfire Candles, and More Fireside Gifts

Like most people as the year wanes, we're combating the happenings of 2020 in the only ways we know how: diving headfirst into leisure activities that soothe us, decorating early for the holidays, dreaming up tablescapes for abridged or solo celebrations, and practicing gratitude for our health. Whether physically or spiritually, we could all use a little comfort and warmth right about now.

As part of our gift guide collection, The Uniek Edit, the first gift guide we're bringing you to kick off the season is By The Fire, filled with objects that invoke all of the cozy principles
